Friday Favourite #19 Supernatural

Hey guys, today's Friday Favourite is the television programme Supernatural. I used to watch this when it first came out when I was like 13 and I absolutely loved it. I watched it on TV back then so when the first season ended, I kind of forgot about it during the break and then missed the second season when it came back so I ended up never watching it again until now. The main reason I decided to start watching it again was that I kept seeing funny GIFs about it on Tumblr and it reminded me of how much I loved it (and Dean :P ) when I was younger.

I've started from the start again because I couldn't really remember it, and I'm now halfway through season one. I just think it's so good, I love scary things and anything supernatural so that, combined with the humour that Sam and Dean's brotherly banter brings to the show, is just really great to watch. It's not too scary though which I like but I do remember being absolutely terrified of the Bloody Mary episode in season one when I was younger :P This time around, however, it wasn't as scary.

Dean is my favourite character. He is so funny and absolutely gorgeous. I remember being obsessed with him when I was younger (and maybe I'm starting to become a little obsessed with him again now :P) I've been watching it every night for the last few nights and I can honestly say that I'm hooked again. I've heard that it gets really good later on so I'm so excited that I've got that to look forward to and that I have around eight seasons to watch before I am up to date. It will definitely keep me from being bored over the next couple of months and I'm so glad I started watching it again.

I don't think it's a show for everyone though, you probably wouldn't like if you are easily scared or just prefer to watch things that are a bit more true to life. However, If you like scary movies, the paranormal, or even just think you would like to see two brothers travelling around trying to solve mysteries then I would definitely recommend watching it. You should at least watch an episode or two before you decide :)

Hope you liked this post :) Do you watch Supernatural or is it just not your type of TV show? Leave a comment below.

Tumblr

Hey Guys!! I just wanted to write a quick post to let ye all know that I have a Tumblr. I've had one for a while now but I think I'm starting to get a bit addicted to it lately and have been on it everyday. I realized that I never told ye about it when I made it so I just thought I'd let you all know in case you wanted to check it out. Mostly I just reblog stuff that I think is funny/inspirational or just stuff that I like. (probably because I'm not really sure how to do much else :P ) If ye want to check it out, the link is misslaurabora.tumblr.com , if not , that's cool too :)

Friday Favourite #18: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Hey Guys, today's Friday Favourite is something that's been a favourite of mine for quite a while now. It's my everyday foundation and I absolutely love it, the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I'm sure everyone already knows how good this foundation is and that's probably why I haven't done this post already, but I thought that it is such an integral part of my makeup collection, and my absolute favourite foundation, that I couldn't not mention it in a Friday Favourite at some point. I've used it non stop for a couple of months now and I definitely plan on repurchasing it when this one runs out (you might be able to tell from the picture that quite a lot is gone from it so I'll probably have to get a new one soon enough).

I really love this foundation because it makes your skins look really natural and radiant while still covering up any imperfections or blemishes. It's quite a lightweight foundation so it doesn't feel too heavy or look cakey on your skin, but it's also very buildable so it gives a good amount of coverage. I'd say it gives a medium amount of coverage so I don't think I would recommend it for someone with very severe acne but if your skin is fairly okay I'd suggest you give this foundation a try if you haven't already. I have fairly dry skin and this foundation doesn't dry it out any more or look flaky when I wear it like some other foundations do. I'm not sure how well it would work for oily skin though because it's supposed to make your skin look radiant, which paired with oily skin might make it look quite shiny but I'm sure it with be okay if you made sure to powder your face after applying it and throughout the day.

One of the main reasons I'd say to definitely give this product a try is because of the price; it's so affordable.
It's only like €8, and given how good of a foundation it is, I think that it is well worth the money. Even if you find that you don't actually like it or it's not worth the hype, at least you didn't spend €35 on it like you might if you wanted to try a Mac foundation. This is my Ultimate favourite foundation and I have no plans to look for any sort of alternative to it any time soon, so I think that in itself really says it all :)

Hope you liked this post :) Do you have this foundation? What do you think of it? Please leave a comment below letting me know what you think :)

The Liebster Award

Hey Guys! I just got nominated for the Liebster Award by Stacey from Be Yourself and Be Fabulous. I'm new to her blog but it's really good, so make sure to go check it out and follow it :) The Liebster Award is a chain blog award given to up and coming bloggers with under 200 followers by a fellow blogger to help everyone find new blogs to read and new bloggers to connect with. Thanks so much Stacey for nominating me.

The Rules:
You must link the person who nominated you.
You must answer the 11 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee.
You must pick 11 bloggers with under 200 followers to be nominated for the award.
You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
You must come up with 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
You must go to their blogs and notify your nominees.

Stacey's questions for me:
1. Why did you decide to start a blog?
I started watching a lot of YouTube videos (more and more for about two and a half years) and thought this looks so fun and I knew Zoella had a blog before she did YouTube, which helped her build up the courage to do YouTube so I decided to try one for that reason, and also to see if it was something that I liked which I found that I really do.
2. When you first started your blog, did it start out as something else, or was this always your genre?
No, my blog has always been a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blog.
3. Do you put yourself on a schedule when you’re going to blog or do you just wing it?

I sort of do. I make a weekly post called The Friday Favourite to make sure that I post at least twice a week, once on Friday and then once any other time during the week so that my blog never has two Friday Favourite's in a row. I usually post whenever I feel like it though other than Friday and as much as I want but the Friday Favourite just makes sure that I post at least twice in a week.
4. If  you could blog about only one thing (excluding your genre) what would it be?

I don't know, I think that if there was something other than my genre that I wanted to post, I would already be posting it. I really like my genre and can't think of anything else that I would prefer to be doing.
5. If you could read only one blog for the rest of your life, whose blog would that be?
Probably Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter, I really love her blog, and she's really dedicated to it so I know that I wouldn't run out of posts to read because she never goes a long period of time without posting, and I think that it is important for your readers to know that you are a reliable blogger.
6. Do your friends and or work acquaintances know you write a blog?
No, only a handful of people know about my blog including my little sister, my cousin and my best friend. I just recently told two of my best friends that are in France with me about it because it is pretty hard not to be able to talk to anyone about. I do like having the secret sometimes though and feel kind of like Batman or something when I'm sneaking around trying to take pictures and planning blog posts haha.
7. How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
I usually don't have to think too hard about something to post and might even have a big list of blog posts to do for the week that I'll have to wait to use, but I do remember once that I got writers block even though I had a couple of idea's to post but just found it really hard to write them and wrote about three different posts that I had to scrap because I didn't like them. I think I eventually just did a NOTD because it's more of a show rather than tell post and then my writers block was gone by the next post I did. I've been pretty lucky though that it was the only time that I really had writers block in the whole time I've had my blog.
8. How long have you been blogging?
Nearly five months now and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon :)
9. Aside from blogging, what other activities do you enjoy?
I like hanging out with my friends, watching scary movies, singing, playing the guitar and watching YouTube videos (not all at the same time :P)
10. Do you subscribe to your own blog?
I don't subscribe to my own blog because I already know when I write a new post, so there isn't any need for me to get updates of when I post something new.
11. How did you feel the moment you read I nominated you for this award?
I was so happy to think that someone liked my blog enough to nominate it for the Liebster Award.

My nominees are....

Laura from Pretty Little Makeup
Lucy from A Little Of Lucy
Bryony from Pianos And Petticoats
Redlipstatement
Lauren from The Devil Wears Tartan
Gabriella from With Eyes Like Diamonds
Lauren from Mega Beauty
Yasmin from Be You
Rackel Kat Blog, Meow
Lexi from Rawlly Yours
Holly from I Blog The Fashion

My questions for the nominees:
1. Why did you start blogging?
2. Is this your first blog or have you had a blog before?
3. What do you do to combat writer's block?
4. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
5. Do you have a least favourite thing about blogging? If so, what is it?
6. Do your family and friends know about your blog?
7. What is your favourite type of post to write?
8. How long have you had your blog?
9. Why did you choose the name of your blog?
10. Who is your favourite blogger?
11. Who is your favourite YouTuber?

Hope you liked this post. Thanks again to Stacey for nominating me for it :) Feel free to leave a comment below with your answers to the questions or do the post on your own blog, even if I haven't nominated you in this post.

Casual Comfy College Look

Hey Guys! I decided to put together a casual look for college (Uni) that you could wear and look nice but still be comfy enough to sit through classes all day. I chose the high tops, jeggings and t-shirt because they are all very comfortable and cute, perfect for college. I thought that the hat was super cool and would also keep you warm while walking between college buildings in the winter. The jacket looks really warm and cosy which is really good because I know there is no way that I could wear just the t-shirt during the Irish autumn and winter (I would freeze), but I really like it and would wear it open to show off how cute the t-shirt is. (I love Batman :P) Lastly, I picked a royal blue messenger bag to carry my notebooks and pens because I never use a school bag for college, I usually just throw my notebooks and books into a large handbag but you could bring a school bag instead if you wanted.

Buy Online Here:
Hat from River Island
Bag from River Island
Shoes from River Island
Jacket from Top Shop
T-shirt from River Island
Jeggings from Next

Hope you liked this look. Would you wear it? Which of the items do you like the best? Leave a comment below.

Friday Favourite #17 Tangle Teezer

Hey Guys! This week's Friday Favourite is the Tangle Teezer. I really love this product. It is a must-have for anyone with thick, curly hair. My hair is so curly that it usually takes ages to brush through but the Tangle Teezer cuts that time in half. I'm really so glad that I bought it. It's very expensive though at €15.99, so I think that if you have fairly straight hair, you might be better off with a regular hairbrush unless you wanted to use it for backcombing.

On the box it says it works by using "Memory flex technology for speedy and gentle results. Ideal on wet and dry hair." I have used it on both wet and dry hair and it's a lot faster than if I used a regular brush for both, but I think it works better on wet hair. I usually use it to brush my conditioner through my hair in the shower and it brushes it through while getting rid of all the tangle and knots within around five minutes, whereas with a normal brush it could take fifteen to twenty minutes sometimes because of how long, thick and curly my hair is. It is something that has annoyed me for years (to where I sometimes considered pulling a Britney :P) so to find something that can keep my hair manageable, and is quick to do, was amazing.

It says also on the box that it is ideal for all hair types so you can get it if you have straight hair, it will work but I just think that if your hair is fairly manageable, you don't need to waste €16 on something to brush it when you can brush your hair in a short amount of time with a regular hairbrush that costs €3.

Overall, I just can't say enough good things about this product. I just love how easy it is to do my hair now so for me it was worth the money, expensive as it was. Do you have a Tangle Teezer? Do you love it as much as me or do you think it didn't work well with your hair-type? Leave a comment below :)

If Your House Was On Fire, What Would You Save?

Okay, early today something kind of weird happened. I was in my dorm room in France, in my Pajamas preparing another blog post, when the fire alarm came on. My first thought was "It's a false alarm, I'll wait for it to stop" because for some reason, in Ireland we don't take fire alarms that seriously probably because almost all of the time they are false alarms or test runs. I do know, though that in other countries people do actually evacuate straight away which we probably should but it's just how we are used to.

So, I waited for a few minutes, trying to hear if anyone else was leaving, looking out my window to see if people were outside the building and waiting for the alarm to stop. When it didn't I decided to get dressed in case I did actually have to leave. Don't worry, it's not that we don't evacuate at all, we just wait and see if there is any chance it is an actual fire or if everyone else is leaving. After I got dressed, I thought if this is really a fire, what should I take with me. Now, we have all thought about this before. If your house was on fire, what would you save? At home, the answers is really easy.. my pets, but here, I don't have any pets so what do I take?

I actually took the most random stuff, well sort of. I really quickly threw my two naked palettes, my two O.P.I nail varnishes, the bobby brown makeup got the other day and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (my favourite and the only one I have here) in French in to my handbag. My planner and little notebook that I plan blog posts in were already in the bag and then I grabbed my watch and my ring which are of sentimental value.

I didn't take my laptop, my Nintendo DS or even my camera, I just thought expensive makeup and Harry Potter. I then left my room, went down three flights of stairs and into the lobby, where I saw lots of people waiting outside the front door. That was when the fire alarm stopped. It had been going for about ten minutes but it was only a false alarm.

When I got back to my room, I thought why did I choose these things to save?
I know that makeup is one of my favourite things in the world and what I spend most or all of my money on so I guess it makes sense that I took some of my favourite products or stuff that I just bought that was expensive. When I think about it though, why did I choose to save a french Harry Potter book which cost like €8 that I bought only the other day? I love all the Harry Potter books and movies but that was such an easily replaceable item that it just didn't make sense, as well as my planner and notebook :P

What do you think you would save if your house was on fire? Are they sentimental things or just expensive?
Also, how do you react when a fire alarm goes off? Do you instantly run from the building or try to figure out whats happening first? Leave a comment below :)

NOTD O.P.I Dining Al Frisco

Hey Guys! This is just a small post about the O.P.I nail lacquer that I got last week in the duty free. I really like O.P.I's nail lacquers and now have two, even though they are fairly expensive at around €12, they make up for it in their quality and don't chip as often as cheaper nail polishes. I really love Dining Al Frisco, it's a gorgeous cerulean colour that's very pretty and shimmery. I think this is a colour that I will be wearing a lot from now on.

Small Kiko Haul

Hey Guys! Today's post is just a mini makeup haul from Kiko. I'd never heard of Kiko before but when my friend was in Belgium she got some and said it was great quality but at really affordable prices. I mainly went in there because I needed a new powder because my Rimmel Stay Matte had fell on the floor and smashed before I left for France and I can't seem to find any Rimmel where I am in France. So the first thing I got was a powder. It was fairly averagely price at around €11 and is really good quality. I got the colour 02 soft light powder because I thought this colour looked quite translucent and I am pretty pale anyway if it wasn't. I've used it a few times now and it's pretty good, no better than Rimmel's Stay Matte though which I will make sure to repurchase once I get home as it's cheaper than the Kiko powder. The Kiko powder is just as good though so I don't mind using it for the next four months.

The second thing I got was a lip liner for €2.50. I got in in the colour 705 which is a bright orangey-red colour that I thought would go perfect with my No. 7 lipstick Gay Geranium. I haven't used it yet but for €2.50 where could you go wrong. One thing that I didn't get but was amazingly priced was their lipstick. It was only like €3.90 and one of my friends made sure to pick one up. I haven't really asked her about it but it seems to be good quality and she wears it a lot so I might pick one up the next time I'm in Kiko and see what they're like.

Hope you like this post :) Have you ever heard of Kiko before? What do you think of it? Leave a comment below.

Friday Favourite #16 Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush

Hey Guys! Good news, I've finally gotten internet here in France!!! So there will actually be a Friday Favourite today :) Today's Friday Favourite is the Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush. The main reason that I love this brush, and use it all the time, is that not only is it great for applying eye shadow but it's also great for blending too. It's like having two brushes in one :) I'd much prefer to use this brush over any normal flat eye shadow brush any day of the week.

I got it in the Real Techniques Starter Kit for €20 in my Amazon Haul. This set contains five other brushes including some that are my other favourites to use (like the brow brush). The set also comes with a Deluxe Crease Brush to be used for blending, but I prefer to use it as a concealer brush so I like that I can use the Base Shadow Brush for blending as well as for applying eye shadow.

It's also fairly small so that you can take it anywhere with you, either with the rest of the brushes in the travel belt that comes with them or just on its own, thrown into your handbag. I also love that it's purple and really cute looking. I really like all the brushes in the Starter Kit but my three main favourites, and the ones I uses the most, are the Base Shadow Brush, The Brow Brush and The Deluxe Crease Brush. Unfortunately, you can't buy this brush separately but it comes with the starter kit. If you are interested in getting this kit, you can buy it here on Amazon for around €20, which is really good value because the brushes are really good quality and you get five for €20.(as well as a travel brush belt)

Hope you liked this post :) I'm glad to finally have my blogging back on track again and not trying to rush it in an Internet Cafe :P Even though I only didn't have internet for like five days, it felt like forever and I really missed my blog and doing blog posts. I have a couple of posts planned for this week so make sure to check back to see them or follow my blog on bloglovin' or GFC to see when I put up new posts :)

Duty Free Haul On The Way To France

Hey Guys! Well, I've arrived in France, but on the way I did something that I shouldn't have; I went a little mad in the Duty Free. They had a Bobby Brown counter and I'm pretty sure there isn't any where that sells Bobby Brown in my home town so there were two things that I definitely needed to pick up: their gel eye liner and their concealer. I've heard a lot of great things about these Bobby Brown products and I'm looking forward to try them out and reviewing them in the next few weeks. I got the corrector concealer in the colour Beige for €19.95 whereas on Amazon it is at least €25 and I got the gel liner in Black Ink for €19.10 Whereas on Amazon it was around €27.

I also got an O.P.I. nail polish in the colour Dining Al Frisco for €11.70 which I think is pretty normally priced. It might have been a euro or two cheaper than usual. The colour is a gorgeous shimmery blue colour. I'll make sure to do a NOTD soon to show you all how gorgeous it is. I also got a Mac lipstick for only €15.65 when it's usually €18. I got the colour Russian Red because I wanted to get a nice classic red lipstick because every girl needs one of those :)

Sorry this post was rushed or spelt a little wrong. I'm in an internet cafe and the keyboard is weird with the buttons all in different places than usual and i'm running out of time. I'll try to post soon but there probably wont be a Friday Favourite tomorrow because I'm still trying to sort out my internet.

My Travel Beauty Essentials

Hey Guys! As ye know I love makeup... a lot, so you can imagine how hard it was for me to narrow down my makeup to everything that I need to bring with me to France for four months. Even though I did in fact narrow it down, I still think that I managed to pick a lot of things to bring because I'm going for quite a long time and didn't know what kind of things I would need. So I narrowed it down to two brush belts of Real Techniques brushes, two eye shadow palettes and a fairly big makeup bag of all the other makeup I need and a few of my favourite Sigma brushes.
I know this looks like quite a lot but you have to remember that this has to do me for four months, If I was only going for a couple of days or a week or something I wouldn't take half as much.

The first must have that I needed to take was makeup brushes, I picked the Real Techniques starter set, the core collection, stippling brush and blush brush. I also decided to take the Sigma F30 large powder brush (for powder and bronzer), the Sigma E40 tapered blending brush (because it's good for blending out my eye shadow and creating a smokey eye), the Sigma E30 pencil brush ( to use when highlighting my inner corner or to bring the shadow under the eye) and the Sigma E65 small angle brush which is my favourite brush for eye liner. If I was only going away for a couple of days I would only bring the RT starter set, stippling brush and blush brush like I did when I went to Paris in May.
The next essentials I picked were face products. I chose the moisturiser Bright Here, Bright Now from Soap and Glory to make my skin look more radiant. I chose Benefit's The Porefessional as my primer, Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation and Bourjois' Délice de Soleil Bronzing Powder. I then decided to bring loads of concealers (I don't know why), which were Soap and Glory's Trick or Treatment, a limited edition Mac Hello Kitty one, Rimmel's Wake Me Up one and Benefit's Erase Paste. I didn't add any powder because my Rimmel Stay Matte powder fell and shattered so I might just buy one over there.
The next few things I chose were eye makeup. I first chose a few brow products like a Sigma shadow to fill them in (It's called Scarlett but it's a lightish brown colour), a pair of tweezers and some Catrice brow gel. Then some eyelash curlers and They're Real mascara, followed by a number of different colour eyeliner pencils, an Essence eyeliner pen and Essence gel liner in black. I also decided to bring a tube of Urban Decay's Primer Potion to make my eye shadow last longer.
Next onto the eye shadows that the primer is making last longer :P I'm taking the Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2 palettes because they are great for everyday eye shadows, which is what I think I need mostly for college classes and day trips and things, but there are also some darker colours for night time. I decided to leave my Mac 15 eye shadow palette at home because I didn't want to risk losing it or shattering any of the eye shadows while travelling but it gives me a good excuse to use my Naked palettes a bit more again.
I decided to bring only two blushes which are my favourite two, Sugarbomb and Coralista which I'm just thinking now are both very summery blushes *adds 17's Blush in the colour First Kiss to bag :P I'm sure I'll still wear the Benefit ones anyway because I love them.
I chose to bring a lot of lip products because I usually choose a lipstick by however I feel on the day. I thought that bringing a lip balm would be a good idea for winter in case my lips get chapped. Then I chose number 7's Classic Rose, L'Oréal Caresse Lipstick (101 tempting lilac), Soap and Glory's The Missing Pink, Mac's Viva Glam V, Mac's Shy Girl and an Essence Lip Liner in the colour red blush (to go with Viva Glam V). I though those were a wide range of lip colours for every occasion and mood. It has now occurred to me that I should have taken the pictures with the lipsticks open and the colours showing but for some reason I didn't think of it when I took them and now they're all packed away. I will probably do some kind of lipstick post in the future anyway so you can see them or just update this when I get to France. I also decided to bring another lipstick last minute and added it to my handbag because I was watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Khloé was wearing a gorgeous bright orangey/red lip which reminded me of my No 7's gay geranium. (which I original didn't pack because I thought I wouldn't be bold enough to wear it and that it mightn't look that nice anyway)
UPDATE: L-R Classic Rose, Tempting Lilac, The Missing Pink, Viva Glam V, Shy Girl and Gay Geranium.

Lastly, I chose to bring some nail varnishes. I chose Bourjois' So Laque Nail Varnish in the colour Beige Glamour, Not SO Bora Bora-ing Pink from O.P.I., Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Blue Plum and another Bourjois So Laque but in the colour Abricot Ouaté. I just like them all and use them fairly often so chose them to bring.
So that was my travel beauty essentials :) Hope you liked this post. It's now 3 in the morning because I was working today, trying to pack and was exhausted when I came home from work so it's a couple of hours later than I intended it to be posted but I prefer to write at night anyway :) The next time I post I'll probably be in France, and hopefully it will be in the next few days once I get my internet sorted and everything. Good Night xx
