Mr Mercedes | Book Review

Hey guys, today I am reviewing the latest Stephen King book that I read, Mr Mercedes. I am a big fan of Stephen King but I had no idea what this book was about, other than is was sort of a detective story, when I bought it. That, and the amazing reviews it received, were enough to convince me to get it and see of it was any good.
The book tells the story of a retired detective who goes rouge and tries to catch the Mercedes Killer, a man responsible for the death and injury of many people, without police help. This was quite an interesting story in that it was told in a sort of back and forth way, sometimes from the point of view for the detective and sometimes by the point of view of the Mercedes Killer. Throughout the book, they both are trying to one up each other as they communicate online. It is intriguing in that the reader does not just play the role of the detective, like in a typical detective story, but is also let in on some of the killers plans which the retired detective has no idea about. We read on in fear as the detective makes a wrong move or doesn't realise what is in front of him because we know what the killer plans to do next.

The book continues back and forth with minor casualties until it all reaches a head. The killer is planning a mass attack on hundreds of people, an attack that the detective knows nothing about. We follow the detective as he tries to figure it out and worry if he can stop the Mercedes Killer in time. I won't ruin the ending for you so you will have to read it to see what happens. Overall, I enjoyed the book and the development of the two main characters; they were both very interesting people and it was especially interesting to see things from the point of view of the killer.

The only issue I have is the ending of the book. When I read it I couldn't help but feel that there was something missing, although I didn't know what it was at the time. I have recently figured out what the ending of the book lacked but I guess I shouldn't say it in case I ruin it. My mom also read it and she was happy with the ending but I felt it could have done with another chapter just to properly finish it all up because it seemed a little rushed or something. It's hard to explain without explaining because the extra chapter I wanted includes a specific thing/event.

Anyway, I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it. I love Stephen King's writing and this book was no exception. Have you read this book? Let me know in the comments below. Also, if you read the book and are dying to know what my missing chapter is then message me on social media and I'll explain. Talk to you guys soon.

Ariana Grande Inspired Makeup Look

Hey guys, recently I filmed an Ariana Grande inspired makeup look for my channel that I want to share with you. The look contains quite a bright purple lip that I was dying to try out as soon as I saw. I really like how the makeup turned out and I'm definitely going to wear it in the future; It's pretty versatile so it can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion. Watch the video below to find out how I achieved the look.

If you can't watch the embedded video above then click here to watch it on YouTube. I hope you enjoy it and i'll talk to you soon.

Fedora Chic | Casual Street Style Inspiration

Hey guys, today I put together this casual look with some pieces from from River Island. I really like it and the idea of wearing a fedora, although I've never worn one before. Also, I'm starting to realise that I have a very big obsession with boots and want almost every pair I see so I had to put some in the look. Below are the links to the each individual item and the reasons why I chose them.

1. Beige Neppy Sleeveless Top - River Island (€16)
This is a nice, simple top that would go with almost anything. I love the colour and the style; a perfect staple for any wardrobe.

2. Black Coated Ripped Knee Molly Jeggings - River Island (€55)
I love ripped black jeans and jegging and already have a pair that I got from Penneys for only €8 that I wear all the time. These River Island ones are gorgeous but a bit overpriced so I'd recommend getting the Penneys ones unless you want a pair that is a bit more high quality.

3. Mink Oversized Fedora Hat - River Island (€37)
I love the mink colour of this hat, it's so pretty! Don't worry- it's not made of mink which is what I thought when I first read the name. If I was going to get a fedora I would love to get one like this but I don't know if I could spend so much on something that I don't know if I would be able to pull off. I think I'll have to find one that is cheaper to buy and see how much I wear it before I get one for almost €40.

4. Grey Rose Gold Round Watch - River Island (€30)
This watch is gorgeous. I love rose gold jewelry and the style of this watch is so pretty! It also came in pink which was equally as nice but I think it's out of stock now. The neutrality of this watch means that you could wear it with so many different outfits and get a lot of wear out of it.

5. Gold Tone Filigree Pendant Necklace - River Island (€6)
This is a gorgeous, simple pendant necklace. I'm not a big fan of jewelry, especially necklaces but this is the kind of that I like, really casual and relaxed.

6. Black Heeled Chelsea Boots - River Island (€50)
As I've already said, I love boots so much, especially ankle boots. I saw a couple of other pairs on the River Island website that I really want but I always have to try to resist from buying boots because I have quite a few pairs already. These ones are really great and they also come in brown which I want as well haha. In an ideal world I would be able to buy as many pairs of boots in every colour possible but in reality, spending €100 on boots that I don't need is not such a great idea. Oh well, a girl can dream..

This was NOT a sponsored post although all the items were from River Island, I just really like their clothes! I hope you enjoyed this post and liked the look. Make sure to save it on Bloglovin or give it a +1 on Google Plus if you did. Also, please leave a comment below letting me know which item was your favourite from the look. I'll talk to you soon.

Career Paths

Source
Hey guys, today I want to get a little serious with you, well not that serious but I want to discuss a slightly more important topic than usual. I don't know how many of you are struggling with figuring what to do for a career but I know it can be really difficult for some people. Many people know pretty early on what they want to do but for others, it can take years. If you didn't know, I've just finished my degree and will be graduating in a month or two. This is the point where me and most of my friends are starting to really freak out about what to do. I've probably been stressing about this since I was 16, and have gone through what seems like every possible career idea. I feel like I made the wrong choice with my degree and I've messed up; that I should have done something else.

I think for a lot of people, that not getting into a University or getting a good job in the right area straight after their degree can almost feel like the end of the world. There are so many choices, and I think a lot of us fear making the wrong one and it ruining our lives. What we are missing is that there is no one decision that can ruin our lives. We can always find another way to do something or change our minds entirely. You might have to get a loan or work a crap job for a few years to save up to change directions but you are never stuck; there is always a way.

Don't let the stress of deciding what you want to do, or achieving it, bring you down. Don't let it ruin the memories you are making right now. Even if your problem isn't about what you want to do but about not getting the grades for it, you aren't out of options. There are so many other options like certificates and diplomas in smaller courses that add up to the grades you need for University, or doing an apprenticeship or starting your own business. You are never out of options and you are never out of time. You can still go back to college, publish your first novel or create your own fashion line when you are eighty if you want :P I hope keeping this in mind helps to keep you from getting too stressed out about these sort of things because it does for me. The world is full of possibilities, and realistically if we ruin one, there are still so many left to choose from.
